ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਐਸ.ਸੀ.ਈ.ਆਰ.ਟੀ. ਰਾਹੀਂ ਲਏ 5ਵੀਂ ਤੇ 8ਵੀਂ ਦੇ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ 10 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਡਾ. ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੀਮਾ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਦੇ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ ਵਾਲੇ 121 ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਠਵੀਂ ਦੇ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ ਵਾਲੇ 264 ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਦੇ ਅਸਲ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੁਝਾਅ ਵੀ ਮੰਗੇ। ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਡਾਟਾ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਸਕੂਲ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Punjab Education department has taken serious note of 10,000 absent students in 5th and 8th examination conducted by SCERT. Education Minister Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema held a meeting with the school heads and DEO’s to discuss this issue and find solution to bring back absentee students to the schools.

ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਡਾ.ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੀਮਾ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਦਸਵੀਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਬੋਰਡ ਨਤੀਜਿਆਂ 'ਚ ਮਾੜੀ ਫੀਸਦ ਦਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਤੀਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੜਚੋਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਨਤੀਜਿਆਂ 'ਚ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁਝਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਮਲ 'ਚ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ। ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਸਥਿਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਕੂਲ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਬੋਰਡ ਦੇ ਆਡੀਟੋਰੀਅਮ 'ਚ ਸੱਦੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ 6 ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ 500 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਗਏ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਭਰ 'ਚ ਦਸਵੀਂ ਦੀ ਬੋਰਡ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਾੜੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਆਏ ਸਨ।
The Education Minister, Punjab Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today carried out a comprehensive review and detailed analysis with the teachers showing poor results in Matriculation Examination. He gave instructions to the higher ups of the department to act upon the suggestions received from the teacher so as to ensure qualitative improvement in future. Dr. Cheema today held brainstorming session at Punjab School Education Board Auditorium with around 500 teachers of six subjects which had shown poor results in the state.

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਕਮਾਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 388 ਮੈਡਲ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤੀਜੇ ਨੰਬਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਢਾਂਚੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੋ ਸਕਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸਮੂਹ ਜੇਤੂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ-ਬਹੁਤ ਮੁਬਾਰਕਾਂ।

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ. ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਖਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਰੁਣ ਜੇਤਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੁਲਕ ਲਈ ਰਾਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖਰੀਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਅਨਾਜ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖਰਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਈ ਵਿਧੀ ਅਮਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਸ. ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਸਲੇ ਦਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਹੱਲ ਕੱਢਣ ਲਈ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਿ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਏਜੰਸੀਆ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਖਰਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal met the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Ji and urged him to put in place a permanent mechanism for reimbursing the entire expenditure meted out by state in procuring the food grains for the country. Mr. Badal has urged the Union Minister to find a permanent solution for this matter so that states do not face any sort of problem owing to the vast difference between the expenses incurred by the state and price given by the central agencies.

We distributed electricity connections issued by the government to hundreds of farmers from Mattewal and Majitha. All the material required to install tube well connections has reached the stores and connections are being given on first-come-first serve basis. After a long legal battle with the Green Tribunal, Mr. Badal has acquired approval to issue connections to the farmers of Punjab and nobody will be permitted to obstruct the process. We also directed the officials of the electricity department to establish a separate complaint cell in each district to address queries of farmers in this context.

ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਅਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਕੂਲ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਬੋਰਡ ਤੋਂ 12ਵੀਂ ਪਾਸ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਦਾ ਵੀਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ। ਜਿਸ 'ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਡਾ. ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੀਮਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਅਨ ਹਾਈ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਅੱਗੇ ਇਹ ਮੁੱਦਾ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਅਣਥੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਰੰਗ ਲਿਆਈ ਤੇ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਅਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਫਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀਜ਼ਾ ਰੱਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸੰਗਰੂਰ, ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਹੋਰ ਮੈਰੀਟੋਰੀਅਸ ਸਕੂਲ
ਖੋਲਣ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
An immense honour for every Punjabi as
Punjab become the first state in India to successfully run meritorious
schools where free education is imparted to the poor and brilliant
students. The facilities in these meritorious schools extended to
brilliant students include free hostel, food and special coaching for
the competitive examination. Existing 7 meritorious schools have already
being imparting free education to the 4850 students of the state and 3
more Residential schools for meritorious students coming up at Sangrur,
Ferozepur and Gurdaspur.
