ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਐਸ.ਸੀ.ਈ.ਆਰ.ਟੀ. ਰਾਹੀਂ ਲਏ 5ਵੀਂ ਤੇ 8ਵੀਂ ਦੇ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ 10 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਡਾ. ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੀਮਾ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਦੇ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ ਵਾਲੇ 121 ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਠਵੀਂ ਦੇ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ ਵਾਲੇ 264 ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਦੇ ਅਸਲ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੁਝਾਅ ਵੀ ਮੰਗੇ। ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਡਾਟਾ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਸਕੂਲ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Punjab Education department has taken serious note of 10,000 absent students in 5th and 8th examination conducted by SCERT. Education Minister Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema held a meeting with the school heads and DEO’s to discuss this issue and find solution to bring back absentee students to the schools.
